NAIL CLIPPING First Sunday of each month $15/dog (tips appreciated) First come, first serve. |
|
Why cut dog nails? Inside the dog's nail is a vein called the quick. Each time the nail is cut, the quick recedes allowing you to get shorter nails as time goes on. Since the vein gets shorter each time its cut, you cannot make up for months or years of not clipping all in one day. It is important that your dog is comfortable with having his/her/their paws restrained (not massaged) and nails done. If your dog is truly problematic with it, we suggest a private session for handling exercises and clipping (which occasionally isn't possible the first time). Nails that go untrimmed can cause muscular-skeletal difficulties such as splayed paws and walking issues. Most dogs do excellent with the monthly trim at ABC (and it keeps owners on schedule also). Hope to see you soon! |
